The Tutor-General/Permanent Secretary, Education District VI, Mrs Mojisola Yusuf, says that the district remains committed to fostering innovation, continuous teacher development, and digital transformation in its quest to improve learning outcomes across schools under her supervision.
Yusuf disclosed during an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos, on Tuesday .
She reiterated the district’s resolve to build a 21st-century education system that aligns with global best practices.
Yusuf said that 106 schools are under her watch in education district VI, which includes; Ikeja, Mushin and Oshodi district area.
She added that Education District VI had continued to prioritize capacity building for teachers through regular training, workshops, and technology-driven teaching methods aimed at enhancing instructional delivery and student performance.
According to her, the Lagos State Government under Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu has demonstrated unwavering support toward transforming the education sector through digital integration, infrastructure upgrade, and improved welfare for teachers.
“The vision of Education District VI is to produce well-rounded learners equipped with knowledge, skills, and character needed to thrive in a competitive and digital world,” she said.
Yusuf said that the district had also introduced mentorship programmes and peer learning initiatives among teachers to encourage innovation and professional collaboration.
She said that such initiatives had contributed immensely to improved teaching standards and better academic results recorded by students in recent examinations.
The permanent secretary added that the district was working closely with technology partners to expand digital literacy and access to learning tools in schools under her watch.
She commended the efforts of school administrators, teachers, and students for their commitment to excellence despite various challenges.
She applauded Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu led administration for his unflinching support towards the development of education sector in the state.
“I am optimistic that government will continue to provide the enabling environment for education to thrive in Lagos State.
“This present administration commitment towards education sector is commendable and encouraging, ” she said.
Yusuf said that education remained the foundation of sustainable development, urging parents and communities to support schools in nurturing disciplined, responsible, and creative learners.
She reiterated that the district would sustain its drive for innovation, quality education, and digital inclusiveness in line with the THEMES+ agenda of the Lagos State Government.
